SEOUL, July 15 (Yonhap) -- Relics that have been excavated before the 2000s and have been buried in storage of the university museum for a long time without being sorted out, is coming to light.

The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on Friday that an exhibition using relics excavated and stored by university museums before the 2000s will be held at Chungnam National University Museum on July 15, followed by Yeungnam University and Dankook University.

At the Chungnam National University Museum, an exhibition highlighting the academic value of the kiln ruins of Jinjukri, Boryeong, from the Unified Silla period, will be held until November, centering on 151 jars.

On September, Yeungnam University and Dankook University will also exhibit relics that have been recently organized.

The Yeungnam University Museum is holding an exhibition that shows how the relics were buried in Abdokguk, a small province of Silla, centering on the relics excavated in 1982 in Imdang-dong, Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Dankook University Seokjuseon Memorial Museum will focus on the significance of the excavations of the remains of Gupo-ri, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, which is known as the tomb of Choi Suk (1636-1698), a warrior in the late Joseon Dynasty.

The Cultural Heritage Administration has been conducting a project to preserve and utilize unresolved relics for the third year this year.

A total of 15.8 billion won will be invested by 2025 to register and organize relics, publish reports, and display relics, while about 90,000 relics will be returned to the country.
