SEOUL, March 5 (Yonhap) -- LG Household & Health Care said on Thursday that its de-aging solution beauty brand O HUI has launched “O HUI Day Shield Dark Spot Collagen Tone-Up Sun” (SPF 50+ / PA++++) to intensively manage dark spots and blemishes caused by ultraviolet rays.

The new sunscreen features a pastel purple tone designed to brighten yellowish skin tones. The company said clinical tests confirmed a tone-up effect that improves overall skin brightness and reduces yellow and red undertones, enhancing skin tone uniformity by 18.4 percent.

The product contains “3D Core Collagen,” featuring the same triple-helix structure as human collagen, and a “Super Vitamin Complex,” known for antioxidant properties. It also includes niacinamide for brightening and tranexamic acid, known to aid in brightening care. Clinical results showed that the area of dark spots and blemishes improved by 41.13 percent after four weeks of use, the company said.

The sunscreen uses a hybrid formula combining the benefits of mineral and chemical UV filters. After two weeks of use, UV-damaged skin was soothed by 38.4 percent and skin texture improved by 10.3 percent, demonstrating anti-photoaging effects, the company added.

An O HUI marketing official said the new product not only provides UV protection, the basic function of sunscreen, but also helps improve photoaging. The product is available at O HUI stores in department stores nationwide, the brand’s official online mall and major e-commerce platforms.
