SEOUL, March 5 (Yonhap) -- K-pop supergroup BTS said Thursday that its seven members will continue walking the same path together, 15 days ahead of the release of its fifth full-length album “ARIRANG” on March 20.
In a trailer video for its comeback show, titled “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG,” released at 5 a.m. on the group’s official social media accounts, the members shared their thoughts on returning as a full team.
The video opens with cheers and chants from ARMY, the group’s fandom, echoing through a past concert venue. Hearing the voices, the members said, “We really miss you,” expressing their affection for fans.
Set against daytime and nighttime views of Gyeongbokgung, the trailer blends the presence of the members with the beauty of traditional Korean architecture. Phrases such as “The world’s top group returns” and “Witness their comeback” heighten anticipation.
“We felt that many things have changed one by one,” the members said. “But we believe the seven of us can continue walking this path together and keep swimming forward.”
Leader RM emphasized, “We promised our fans that we would return.”
A poster unveiled alongside the video shows the silhouettes of the seven members standing in front of Gwanghwamun.
The group will hold a comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul at 8 p.m. on March 21, a day after the album’s release. The show will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, known for directing the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics and the Super Bowl halftime show. The performance will be livestreamed worldwide via Netflix.
The album’s lead track, “SWIM,” conveys a message about moving forward without stopping amid the waves of life. The song expresses the determination to overcome surging currents at one’s own pace as a “love for life.” RM participated in writing the lyrics.
