The Jongno Ward office in charge of the square passed an outdoor World Cup cheering petition submitted by South Korean football cheering squad Red Devils on Nov. 22, 2022. The Seoul city government will hold a meeting later in the day to decide whether to give a go-ahead to the request. Earlier, the city government decided not to allow outdoor cheering in consideration of the Itaewon tragedy. (Yonhap)
