SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- Park Kyung-gu, a member of the band Eolgenity who participated in writing and composing songs for singer Jang Beom-june, has died at the age of 38, the music industry said Tuesday. He passed away on Saturday.

According to industry sources, Park’s cousin announced the news on the late musician’s social media account, saying, “I would appreciate it if you could join us with warm hearts as my cousin takes his final journey.”

The cause of death was not disclosed.

Park was known to have performed busking shows with Jang during the early days of the singer’s career. Through that connection, he took part in writing and composing several of Jang’s songs, including "Between Hongdae and Konkuk University," "A Difficult Woman," "Fallen Leaves Ending," "Sinpung Station Exit 2 Blues" and "Noona."

When releasing his fourth solo album, "A Loser’s History," in March last year, Jang wrote in the album description, “Lastly, wishing for Kyung-gu’s health, I send ‘Noona’ together with this album.”

Jang has not publicly commented on Park’s death. However, on Sunday he uploaded a video titled "Park Kyung-gu Best Live Clip" to his YouTube channel, featuring songs written by Park, in what appeared to be a tribute.
