Jee Seok-jin to take break from 'Running Man' for health reasons

SEOUL, Dec. 18 (Yonhap) -- Comedian Jee Seok-jin will be temporarily departing the popular TV variety show "Running Man" to focus on his health, his talent agency said Monday.

"Jee decided to take a break from the SBS variety show 'Running Man' starting from today's filming, after a recent health checkup showed he needs treatment," ESteen Entertainment said in a release without elaborating on the treatment.

"We'll do our best to help him regain his strength after a short break and return in healthier form as soon as possible," it said.

The 57-year-old has been a popular fixture on the show since July 2010.
