MANILA, March 4 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung is set to attend a business forum and meet with Korean residents in the Philippines on Wednesday before wrapping up his four-day trip to Southeast Asia, which included a stop in Singapore.
On the second day of his state visit to the Philippines, Lee plans to visit the Philippines National Cemetery in Manila to lay a wreath at the Korean War Memorial and meet with surviving veterans and their descendants.
He will then attend the Korea-Philippines Business Forum to discuss ways to expand economic cooperation with business leaders of the two nations.
During the forum, seven memorandums of understanding (MOUs) in areas including nuclear energy, shipbuilding and critical minerals will be signed, according to Cheong Wa Dae.
Lee is scheduled to meet Korean residents in the Philippines before flying back home.
On Tuesday, Lee held summit talks with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and agreed to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation in areas including artificial intelligence (AI), the defense industry, nuclear energy and critical minerals.
During his three-day state visit to Singapore, Lee held a summit with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, during which the two sides agreed to launch negotiations to upgrade their free trade agreement and bolster collaboration in AI, nuclear power and other areas.
