SEOUL, Feb. 1 (Yonhap) -- The 30th Taebaeksan Snow Festival, South Korea’s largest snow sculpture exhibition that has made its return in three years, will be welcoming tourists until Feb. 5.
The Festival’s winter wonderland, which opened on Jan. 27, wrapped up its five-day schedule and ended on Tuesday. During the five-day festival, the festival venue that was opened and prepared in the city of Taebaek, one of Korea’s representative winter cities, was crowded with tourists.
The Festival covered in winter snow greeted a total of 306,200 tourists as of Tuesday; however, five days were too short for everyone to enjoy Taebaek’s snow-white winter wonderland. Accordingly, the Taebaek Cultural Foundation decided to extend the snow sculpture exhibition that was being held in the Danggol Square in Taebaeksan National Park until Feb. 5.
The Snow Sculpture Exhibition displays grand snow sculptures standing in every nook and cranny of the Square, including the Wonderland castle, Mickey Mouse, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Cinderella’s Pumpkin Wagon.
“The winter wonderland of Taebaek that has been built with beautiful, large snow sculptures will welcome visitors this weekend as well,” a Taebaek official said. “Please visit Taebaek with your family, friends, and lovers to make some snow-white memories.”
