SEOUL, January 3 (Yonhap) -- The sequel of the webtoon "Cassandra" has been officially released after nine years.
The third season of the Webtoon "Cassandra" by Lee Ha-jin illustrator started on December 30, according to Kakao Webtoon on Tuesday.
The webtoon came back on the platform after eight years and nine months since its last episode of season two which was released in March of 2014.
"Cassandra" depicts the story of Cassandra, the princess of Troy from the Roman Mythology having to watch the destruction of her country.
This webtoon gained a lot of popularity while being continued in Daum Webtoon in 2012~2014, but the third season was unofficially continued on blog due to the illustrator's personal issue.
The author indirectly portrayed the personal situation at the time when it was unable to continue the series of "Cassandra" due to his family's reckless stock investment through his autobiographical webtoon "Family of Gambling Addicts."
The illustrator explained on the personal blog "I have made this webtoon official from gathering the stories of the episodes in my blog," adding, "This webtoon is made in collaboration with two other illustrators under the small business I started with the money I made with the webtoon 'Family of Gambling Addicts.'"
"Cassandra" will be produced internationally soon.
The illustrator said, "Revisions will be slowly made while working on the beginning of the international version of the webtoon."
