◇ BLACKPINK Jisoo shoots solo debut MV overseas… “The biggest production cost ever”

Girl group BLACKPINK member Jisoo's solo debut music video is being filmed overseas, her agency YG Entertainment said on Tuesday. 

 

"We are filming Jisoo's solo music video in secret overseas all location," the agency said. "We have invested the largest production cost ever among BLACKPINK videos."

 

YG explained, "Jisoo showed extraordinary affection, claiming to re-record the album to improve the completeness even during the world tour."

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will hold an encore concert in member Lisa’s hometown of Thailand, the group’s agency YG Entertainment confirmed Wednesday.


The mega-hit girl group, which has embarked on a world tour spanning Asia, will hold two encore gigs in the city of Bangkok, Thailand, for two days from May 27 to 28.

Jimin of K-pop superstar BTS will drop his first official album as a solo artist next month.

The dancer-vocalist said on social media Wednesday the album, titled "Face," will come out March 24.

The album depicts the singer facing himself and preparing for his new start as a soloist, according to the group's agency, BigHit Music.

In the meantime BTS' V joins tvN cooking reality show "Jinny's Kichen." 

 

V, who went by his Korean name Kim Tae-hyung in the program, said he made "an unforgettable memory" from his internship at the Korean restaurant in an exotic place.

 

◇ ‘Physical 100’ tops Netflix’s non-English show chart for 2nd week

The Netflix survival show "Physical: 100" stayed on top of the streamer's weekly viewership chart for non-English TV shows for the second consecutive week, its data showed Wednesday.

Premiered on Jan. 24, the Korean variety show was the most-watched non-English TV show on Netflix's Top 10 list for the week of Feb. 13-19 with 45.42 million viewing hours.

The Korean variety show has gained popularity across the world with its gladiator-style fighting and a setting reminiscent of the Netflix series "Squid Game."

It pits 100 contestants against each other to test their physical capabilities with a simple rule: get physical and be the last one standing for a cash prize of 300 million won (US$238,890).
