SEOUL, Nov. 24 (Yonhap) -- Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi has made an official announcement through his attorney on November 24 that he has not been able to get anything regarding his music usage fee from his entertainment agency, Hook Entertainment, which he has been part of for 18 years.

Lee Seung-gi's attorney announced through a new release, saying, "Lee Seung-gi requested his agency Hook Entertainment on November 15 to pay all the unsettled music usage fees and disclose the details of profits from the distribution of all the albums he has participated in so far."

Lee Seung-gi claimed, "I have followed and trusted everything regarding payments for the last 18 years I was in Hook Entertainment," adding, "I did not even know that I was making money through music as the agency was not even mentioning anything about my music usage fees, and I recently got to know about it as one of the employees of the agency accidentally sent me a text regarding my payment."

"Lee Seung-gi asked for his settlement details several times, but the agency refused to provide what he asked for, making phony excuses and saying, "You are a minus singer," according to reports.

Lee Seung-gi's attorney explained, "During this time, Lee Seung-gi was insulted and threatened by the CEO (Kwon Jin-young) of the agency," and added, "As a result, we decided that the trust relationship between Hook Entertainment and CEO Kwon Jin-young, with whom Lee Seung-gi had been linked for a long time and relied on like a family, could not be sustained, regardless of the settlement of music fees. Therefore, it was decided that it was time to send the content certificate through a legal representative."

It said, "In addition to the settlement of music fees, Lee Seung-gi will conduct a close review of various legal relations between Hook Entertainment and CEO Kwon Jin-young and Lee Seung-gi."

Earlier, Kwon Jin-young, CEO of Hook Entertainment, announced through an article regarding this situation on November 21 that "everything is my fault," adding, "If there is anything that I or Hook Entertainment did in order to cause such an incident to happen, I will take full responsibility for my actions."
