SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Yonhap) -- TvN’s brand-new variety show “Jinny’s Kitchen,” which has gone viral for K-pop superstar BTS’ Kim Tae-hyung, better known by his stage name V, joining the star-dubbed cast of Lee Seo-jiin, Jung Yu-mi, Park Seo-joon, and Choi Woo-shik, has kicked off with a viewership rate in the range of 8%.

The very first episode of star producer Na Young-seok’s reality show, aired at 8:50 p.m. Friday, recorded a viewership rate of 8.8%, according to Nielson Korea Saturday.

The first episode captured the very first exciting meeting of the cast, as well as the nerve-wracking grand opening of their restaurant.

As a spin-off to producer Na’s 2017 hit show “Youn’s Kitchen,” which followed Oscar-winning actress Youn Yuh-jung running a Korean restaurant abroad with fellow actors Lee Seo-jin, Jung Yu-mi, and Park Seo-joon, “Jinny’s Kitchen” features the team heading to Bacalar, Mexico, to introduce Korean street food to locals and tourists in the coastal town.

Under Lee, who has been promoted to the owner from head manager in the previous season, Jung and Park have also been promoted to registered director and head chief as they share the experience of running the restaurant with Youn. However, Choi, who joined the crew in the 2021 spin-off show “Youn’s Stay,” does not get promoted as an intern. The newest member Kim, who will also be the youngest cast, was appointed as an assistant to Park.

Opening a Korean restaurant abroad certainly had its ups and downs with endless preps in an unexpectedly showering rain, all casts outperformed their assigned parts and showed perfectly amazing teamwork.

"Jinny's Kitchen" airs every Friday at 8:50 p.m. and streams on TVING and Prime Video.
