SEOUL Jan. 3 (Yonhap) – South Korean mega-hit girl group BLACKPINK’s YouTube video "Shut Down" has exceeded 300 million views, according to their agency YG Entertainment.

The video surpassed 300 million views at 3: 30 A.M. on the 3rd, which was only 109 days after the video’s release on September 16th.

BLACKPINK’s "Shut Down" is a hip-hop song based on Niccolo Paganini’s piece, "La Campanella," which vividly reflects the group’s outstanding vocal skills and rap techniques.

Lisa, one of the multi-faceted members of BLACKPINK, has also received the news of her own solo album "MONEY" reaching 100 million views on YouTube.

“It is rather extraordinary and unprecedented for a choreographic video filmed in their practice room in an atmosphere of freedom to be reaching such high view rates,” commented YG Entertainment. “It is definitely the outcome of highly qualified songs and Lisa’s exceptional performance,” the agency added.
