National Palace Museum of Korea to hold 'Story of Cultural Heritage Abroad' every wed from July 20

SEOUL, July 19 (Yonhap) -- The National Palace Museum of Korea will be holding the "Story of Cultural Heritage Abroad" event every Wednesday from July 20 till 21 September.

The event introduces the special exhibition "Treasures of Ours, Treasured by Others-Journey of Korean Cultural Heritage" currently in progress at the museum and explains major works.

In the talk concert after the explanation of the exhibition, the present status of the Korean cultural assets abroad and the efforts of various fields to recover them will be conveyed.

One will also be able to see and hear the story of the painting "The Gathering of Officials at Dokseodang Hall," which portrays scholars boating in the area around the Dongho Lake, and "Bamboo Book for the Investiture of Hyomyeong as Crown Prince," which was thought to have been lost for 150 years.


Anyone interested in cultural heritage will be able to participate freely. Applications can be made on the website of the National Palace Museum of Korea (gogung.go.kr) from 10 a.m. on the Monday of the week when the event is held.
