SEOUL, July 18 (Yonhap) -- The second and final seasons of the global hit "Squid Game" posted massive viewership numbers on Netflix during the first six months of the year, a report showed Friday.

According to the streaming giant's Engagement Report, the entire "Squid Game" franchise drew 231 million views in the first half.

"Squid Game" Season 2, which premiered Dec. 26, ranked second on the most-watched series chart with 117 million views, trailing only the British series "Adolescence," which garnered 145 million views.

Following closely behind at No. 3 was "Squid Game" Season 3, which amassed an impressive 72 million views in just four days since its June 27 release.

The original season of "Squid Game" also remained popular, landing at No. 18.

The success of Korean content extended beyond the hit survival series. Other notable Korean shows on the list include "When Life Gives You Tangerines" at No. 25, "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" at No. 26, and "Weak Hero: Class 1" and "Weak Hero: Class 2" at 42 and 51, respectively.

The report also highlighted the global appeal of non-English content, with 10 of the top 25 most-watched series originating from outside the English-speaking world.
