K-pop executives honored at Billboard Women in Music 2026

SEOUL, April 20 (Yonhap) -- Key executives from major K-pop companies, including Kim Ji-won of SM Entertainment and Shin Seon-jeong of BigHit Music, have been named winners at "Billboard Women in Music 2026."

 

U.S. music outlet Billboard announced the list of this year’s honorees on its official website Friday (local time).

 

The annual awards recognize female artists, creators, producers and executives who have driven innovation, shaped the future of music and made significant contributions to the industry over the past year.

At SM Entertainment, Kim Ji-won, chief relations officer, and Choi Jung-min, chief global officer, were both named in the label, distribution and artist services category for the second consecutive year.

 

Kim is a public relations expert who has led external communications and marketing strategies for SM artists since the 2000s, while Choi has overseen global branding and business operations across markets including the Americas, Europe and Asia.

 

At HYBE, Shin Seon-jeong of BigHit Music and Mitra Darab were selected in the multi-sector category.

 

Song Ji-eun, head of One Label and CEO of JYP Japan, was also included in the label, distribution and artist services category.

 

The awards ceremony will take place April 29 at the Hollywood Palladium.
