Ruling party lawmaker on hunger strike

Ahn Ho-young, a lawmaker of the ruling Democratic Party, lies inside a tent in front of the National Assembly in Seoul on April 22, 2026, the 12th day of his hunger strike to demand the party leadership reinvestigate allegations that Lee Won-taek, a lawmaker of the same party and the elected candidate for North Jeolla governor, had his meal expenses paid by a third party.
