Arrest warrant for students for trespassing at presidential office

Members of the Korean Progressive University Student Union, a controversial student activist group, stage a rally in front of the Seoul Western District Court in the capital on Jan. 9, 2024, to voice their objection to the issuance of an arrest warrant for a group of university students affiliated with the union over their attempt to break into the presidential office. Police requested the arrest warrant for the 16 university students the previous day after they were apprehended on Jan. 6 while attempting to trespass at the presidential office compound to demand a special probe into President Yoon Suk Yeol's wife, Kim Keon Hee, and a meeting with presidential officials.
