SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Yonhap) -- STAYC, who is drawing attention as the next generation girl group, released a second mini-album “YOUNG-LUV.COM” on Monday.
STAYC said on the online showcase, “We tried to show off our individuality through this album,” adding, “I think we now know the sides that we can express well the most.”
This is STAYC’s comeback after five months since the release of the first mini-album, which dropped in September 2021.
The album consists of 6 songs of different genres, including the title song “RUN2U,” “SAME SAME,” “247,” and “BUTTERFLY.”
The title song “RUN2U” expresses the desire to run without fear for love despite what others say. The performance showed the fierce side when falling in love and the confident and energetic part of the group.
ISA said, “I know we wrote this song after setting the concept and direction for this album," adding, "When I first heard it, I was so happy that I got goosebumps three times. I wanted to record our voices and listen to the track.”
Sieun said, "We tried to maintain the ‘teen-fresh’ look while showing a much more mature and intense appearance than before," adding, "We tried to capture our relentless side to go all in one on the other person through the song ‘RUN2U.’”
Yoon explained, "This album contains many songs of genres that we haven't usually tried, and I think each vocalist's individuality has come to life while practicing these tracks," adding, "I think the range of genres that we can digest has expanded."
STAYC, who debuted with “SO BAD” in Nov. 2020, gained popularity with songs including “ASAP,” and “STEREOTYPE.”
“Thank you for recognizing our music and I’m grateful for the love and support we receive,” said J.
