SEOUL, July 16 (Yonhap) -- Kdrama Series "Salon de Holmes," which tells the exhilarating story of a housewife detective squad, ended its run with ratings in the 3-percent range.

According to Nielsen Korea on Wednesday, the 10th and final episode of the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama aired the previous day recorded a nationwide viewership of 3.6 percent, marking the series’ highest rating.

In the final episode, Gong Mi-ri (played by Lee Si-young) uncovered evidence that apartment security guard Kim Hyun-deok (Kim Jung-ho) was the killer of her old friend Ji-eun’s mother (Lee Sun-joo), intensifying the suspense.

Mi-ri desperately fought to rescue her daughter Park Hyun-ji (Kang Ji-woo), who had been kidnapped by Kim. In the end, the four housewives joined forces to capture the murderer and saved Hyun-ji, who was trapped in the basement amid a blaze.

"Salon de Holmes" portrays the lives of women living in a hallway-style apartment complex called Gwangseon Jugong Apartments, who solve everyday problems and inconveniences themselves.

After moving into the complex, Mi-ri teams up with former insurance queen Jeon Ji-hyun (Nam Gi-ae), ex-police officer Chu Kyung-ja (Jung Young-joo), and delivery worker Park So-hee (Kim Da-som), forming a fearless squad that doesn’t hesitate to take action.

Aside from the serial killer Kim Hyun-deok, the show introduced realistic villains each episode, such as reckless parkers, school bullies, and illegal trash dumpers, striking a chord with viewers.

The cast also included comedian Lee Su-ji, actor Jung Sang-hoon, and the late actress Park Ji-a.

The drama began with a 1.3 percent viewership for its premiere but gained popularity through positive word-of-mouth, thanks to its refreshing "womance" — a term for deep female friendships — and reached the 3-percent range from the sixth episode onward.

"Salon de Holmes" is also available on the OTT platform Coupang Play.
