SEOUL January 27 (Yonhap) -- Committee of the “Seoul International Women’s Film Festival” has appointed director Lee Sook-kyung as the chairperson on Friday.

Director Lee started her production in 2008 with “The Day After” and continued on with her career through “Wandering Stars,” in 2018, and more. “The Day After” received an award from Berline International Film Festival.

Before working as a film director Lee Sook-kyung started her career at a publishing company, then moved on to female rights activist, to TV show hosts, to a professor of Women’s Studies.

Lee Sook-kyung has been working as part of the committee of “Seoul International Women’s Film Festival” since 2017 and in 2020 she was appointed as the head of the programs.

“Seoul International Women’s Film Festival” which will be hosting its 25th of its kind in 2023 will be held in October in Sangam district Seoul.
