SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Yonhap) – The annual Horizon Festival held in Gimje, a city in North Jeolla Province well known for the plains, will be back in action this October for five days from the 5th at Beokgolje, the city of Gimje announced Saturday.

As the week will include not only the weekends but also Hangul Day (Oct. 9), with the rich gold field of Byeokgolje at its peak of beauty, the committee is planning to bring back the Festival in the first week of October.

Details on the Festival programs will be sorted out and announced in time.

The Horizon Festival marks its 25th anniversary this year as the nation’s most prominent event for experiencing traditional agricultural culture.

Mayor Jung Sung-joo of Gimje said, “We will make sure the Gimje Horizon Festival is held safely under control, offering a slew of experiences, attractions, and food to continue the much sought after legacy of one of the representative Festivals in Korea.”
