SEOUL January 20 (Yonhap) -- “2023 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival” will be continuing on with its schedule throughout the Korean holiday.
Despite of the snow it accumulated throughout the night, has cleaned up the festival area and continued on with their schedule on Friday.
Hwacheon city government plans to continue on with the event which will continue throughout the span of 4 days within the Korean holiday season from January 21 to 24.
Moreover, the night festival which is planned for both January 20 and 21 at the carless road will be held as it’s planned.
Hwacheon city government continuously put the emphasis on the safety feature of their festival and how the thickness of the ice which is the biggest safety related feature has no problem.
Currently the thickness of the ice measures 38 to 40cm which is more than well frozen for the festival to be held.
Choi Moon-soo the mayor of Hwacheon city addressed “Given the situation we thought a lot of people visit the festival site therefore we have put the safety regulations as our priority.”
“2023 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival” will continue on until January 29.
