SEOUL, Jan. 6 (Yonhap) – The National Museum of Korea will be holding a weekly event on Wednesdays to provide the curator’s explanations of various collections during the nighttime opening.

Those who see the “Goryeo Collection I” at the Medieval and Early Modern History Gallery next Wednesday (Jan. 11) at 6 P.M. will be able to listen to the curator’s explanation and analysis of “Samguk Sagi,” a historical record of the Three Kingdoms of Korea that was originally published in the year 1145 during the Goryeo period.

On Jan. 17, those who visit the renovated Donated Collection Gallery at 7 P.M. will be able to look at more than 200 cultural heritage items, all with different historical and cultural backgrounds, gathered at the “Shared Library.”

The room also shows the “Corinthian helmet,” an ancient Greek bronze helmet from the 6th century, which was donated by Son Kee-chung (1912 - 2002).

Additionally, the “Joseon’s Map,” an exhibition of various maps drawn during the Joseon period, will be held on the 18th, followed by the “Sculptural Celadon” which will exhibit jade-colored celadons with detailed explanations on the 25th.

Any exhibitions or galleries can be visited by anyone without making any reservations.
