SEOUL, Aug. 5 (Yonhap) -- Acclaimed filmmaker Lee Chang-dong is returning to the director’s chair with the Netflix original film, tentatively named "Possible Love," featuring a star-studded cast led by Jeon Do-yeon and Sol Kyung-gu, according to Netflix on Tuesday.

The film tells the story of two couples whose lives are thrown into turmoil as their vastly different worlds collide. As emotional cracks begin to appear in their everyday routines, the film explores the complexities of love and human connection.

Jeon Do-yeon, who earned Best Actress at the 60th Cannes Film Festival for her role in Lee’s 2007 film "Secret Sunshine," reunites with the director to play the character Mi-ok. Sol Kyung-gu, who previously collaborated with Lee on "Peppermint Candy" (2000) and "Oasis" (2002), will portray Mi-ok’s husband, Ho-seok.

This marks the fourth time Jeon and Sol have worked together, following their appearances in "I Wish I Had a Wife" (2001), "Birthday" (2019), and "Kill Boksoon" (2023).

Jo In-sung and Jo Yeo-jeong will play the couple Sang-woo and Ye-ji, whose lives sharply contrast with those of Mi-ok and Ho-seok.

The screenplay is co-written by Oh Jung-mi, who also worked with Lee on his previous feature "Burning" (2018). Production is handled by Pinehouse Film, the company behind "Burning."

"The Price of a Confession" marks Lee Chang-dong’s first directorial project in seven years, and his debut collaboration with Netflix.
