SEOUL, Nov. 17 (Yonhap) -- The film "Now You See Me 3" topped the local box office in its opening weekend, data showed Monday.

According to the Korean Film Council’s computerized box-office tracker, the film drew about 435,000 moviegoers from Friday to Sunday (49.3 percent revenue share), ranking No. 1 at the weekend box office.

"Now You See Me 3," which follows a team of magician-vigilantes known as the Horsemen as they take on new villains, is the first sequel in nine years since "Now You See Me 2" (2016). The film, released on Nov. 12, has maintained its No. 1 spot on the daily box office for five consecutive days.

Japanese animated film "Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc" ranked second over the weekend with about 117,000 admissions, bringing its cumulative total to around 3.16 million.

It was followed by "Predator: Badlands" (78,000), "First Ride" (55,000) and "Exit No. 8" (20,000).

In advance ticket sales, the upcoming sequel "Wicked: For Good" led the ranking, posting a reservation rate of 50.4 percent with about 127,000 tickets reserved as of 9:30 a.m. Monday.

"Wicked: For Good," based on the musical of the same name, follows the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) as they embark on diverging paths. The film opens Wednesday.

Disney’s animated film "Zootopia 2" ranked next with a reservation rate of 12.0 percent, or about 30,000 advance tickets. The movie, the first sequel to "Zootopia" in nine years, is set for release on Nov. 26.
