SEOUL,
Aug. 4 (Yonhap) --
Go will portray Jung I-sin, a notorious and brutal serial killer who has been behind bars for 20 years. The story takes a dramatic turn when a new string of murders mimicking her past crimes surfaces after two decades.
Actor Jang Dong-yoon stars as Cha Soo-yeol, a detective who must reluctantly collaborate with the mother he despises—Jung I-sin—in order to track down the new killer.
The series is directed by Byun Young-joo, known for her critically acclaimed films such as "Helpless" and "Ardor." Byun, who debuted in 1993 with the documentary "The Murmuring," is one of Korea’s leading female filmmakers. "The Mantis" marks her second foray into television direction following last year’s MBC drama "Death to Snow White – Blackout."
