SEOUL, July 7 (Yonhap) -- A global exhibition showcasing the worldwide appeal of K-webtoons will tour five countries across Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia through October, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KCCA)said Monday.

Titled "K-Comics World," the exhibition aims to boost the international profile of Korean webtoons. It will be held sequentially in Egypt, Hungary, Canada, China, and Japan between July and October.

The tour kicked off on July 1 (local time) in Cairo at the Egyptian Academy for Arts, with an exhibition centered on "Hellbound," the webtoon by Yeon Sang-ho and Choi Gyu-seok that gained global attention after its adaptation into a Netflix series. A special fan event was also held, where author Choi met with local readers. The Cairo exhibition will run through July 31.
