SEOUL December 27 (Yonhap) -- “Nobu” which was used during Goryeo and Joseon dynasty to showcase the dignity of the king during his march or presence has been restored under the collaboration of Cultural Heritage Administration and Riot Games.
Riot Games which is collaborating with Cultural Heritage Administration by funding the preservation process of 15 of the relics related to the royal procession of Goryeo dynasty safely secured in National Palace Museum of Korea, addressed Cultural Heritage Administration on Tuesday.
Throughout the process of preservation, various relics such as Flag in shape of a bell “Joo Jak-dang” and “Chil Bong-gae” which consists of seven phoenixes “Chil Bong-gae” and peacock drawn on the sides of the bell shaped flag “Jaksun” has recovered its original shape and form.
“Nobu” were often times used throughout royal ceremonies hence the shape and form were well recorded within the royal protocols.
“Based on the recording of the royal protocol, textile and fabric of ‘Nobu’ were scientifically analyzed, after thorough examination; individual fabric pieces were taken into specific preservation process.” announced official of Cultural Heritage Administration.
This will be the second project that Cultural Heritage Administration and Riot Games will be collaborating on the preservation project.
Previously, Cultural Heritage Administration selected 25 of the Nobu related relics and went through individual preservation process according to the subject within 2013 to 2014 under the funding of Riot Games.
Riot Games have been funding the preservation and recovery process of relics from cultural heritage for the past 10 years.
Since both Riot Games and Cultural Heritage Administration signed an agreement regarding restoration of relics and cultural heritage on 2012, Riot Games have donated over 7.7 billion won. Moreover, Riot Games hosted an event where they agreed to donate additional 800 million won to the preservation project.
