Netflix to release new series 'The Wonderfools' on May 15

SEOUL, April 17 (Yonhap) -- Netflix said Friday it will release its new series "The Wonderfools" on May 15.

Set in 1999, when apocalyptic fears were widespread, the comic action-adventure series follows a group of ordinary neighborhood misfits who accidentally gain superpowers and fight villains threatening the peace of the fictional city of Haeseong.

The series is drawing attention for reuniting actress Park Eun-bin with director Yoo In-sik, who previously collaborated on the hit drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."

Singer and actor Cha Eun-woo, currently serving in the military, will also appear alongside actors Choi Dae-hoon and Lim Sung-jae.
