SEOUL, Aug. 21 (Yonhap) -- New Kdrama series "Typhoon Family" will premiere in October, portraying a rookie businessman's strife to revive a failing trading company.
TvN said on Thursdsay that the series, starring Lee Junho and Kim Min-ha, will air its first episode in October.
Set during the 1997 Asian financial crisis, "Typhoon Family" follows Kang Tae-pung, a rookie who suddenly becomes the president of a trading company with no employees, no money and nothing to sell, as he struggles to survive and grow amid the turmoil.
Lee plays Kang Tae-pung, who goes from a carefree young "orange tribe" member to a businessman thrust into the heart of the IMF crisis. Kim takes on the role of Oh Mi-sun, the eldest daughter in her family who shoulders the burden of supporting her household while nurturing her own dream of becoming a successful businesswoman.
The series is directed by Lee Na-jung, known for "Fight for My Way," "Love Alarm," "Mine," "See You in My 19th Life" and the film "Snowy Road."
