SEOUL, July 4 (Yonhap) -- The film "Jurassic World: Rebirth (Jurassic World 4')," starring Scarlett Johansson, is set to make a strong box office debut as it enters its first weekend in theaters.

According to data from the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system on Friday, "Jurassic World: Rebirth," directed by Gareth Edwards, drew over 102,000 moviegoers the previous day, maintaining its top spot at the box office since its opening on Wednesday. The film accounted for 42.9 percent of total ticket sales revenue.

It outpaced Lee Sun-bin’s horror thriller "Noise," which ranked second with approximately 42,000 viewers (18.1 percent), and Brad Pitt’s racing documentary "F1: The Movie," which placed third with around 39,000 admissions (19.5 percent).

"Jurassic World: Rebirth" is the fourth installment in the "Jurassic World" series, a reboot of the original "Jurassic Park" trilogy that began in 1993. The story follows special ops expert Zora (played by Scarlett Johansson) and paleontologist Henry (Jonathan Bailey) as they confront massive dinosaurs on a remote island housing a secret research facility.

As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, the film held a reservation rate of 42.0 percent with more than 184,000 tickets booked, signaling its likely dominance at theaters over the coming weekend.

"F1: The Movie" is following closely behind with a 19.3 percent reservation rate and over 84,000 advance tickets sold.
