SEOUL, March 10 (Yonhap) -- Cheong Wa Dae Foundation announced on Monday that the total number of visitors to Cheong Wa Dae exceeded 7 million as of Saturday.

This milestone comes two years and ten months after the former presidential office was opened to the public on May 10, 2022.

To commemorate the occasion, the foundation presented a congratulatory placard and a special gift to the 7 millionth visitor, 41-year-old Lee Hong-woo and his son.

During the recent Lunar New Year holiday, over 60,000 people visited Cheong Wa Dae, with the cumulative number of foreign visitors nearing 800,000.

Since its opening, Cheong Wa Dae has transformed into a multi-purpose cultural and artistic space. Recently, walking trails have been renovated, and guidebooks detailing the location and characteristics of the site's trees have been distributed to enhance visitor experience.

A foundation representative stated, "We will continue to provide special experiences for visitors by offering diverse cultural and artistic programs, ensuring Cheong Wa Dae remains a premium space where history, culture, and nature converge."
