SEOUL, Sept. 3 (Yonhap) -- A major music and entertainment fair that brings together artists and industry experts from around the world will open in Seoul this month.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) said Wednesday that "MU:CON 2025" will be held Sept. 10-13 in Itaewon and Hannam districts.

Now in its 14th year, MU:CON supports the overseas expansion of Korean musicians and music companies while promoting networking opportunities across the global music industry.

This year’s program will feature showcases by 46 teams of domestic and international artists, as well as conferences sharing insights on the global music and entertainment business.

The showcases will be held Sept. 12-13 at Blue Square SOL Travel Hall, Blue Square NEMO and Cavehouse. Acts on Sept. 12 include Lee Seung-yoon, Grizzly, Jambinai, Khundi Panda, Danpyunsun and the Sailors, Lang Lee and Gisoo, while the Sept. 13 lineup features Zion, Hoa, Bulgogi Disco, Jooyoung and Jackie.

Ghazi Shami, CEO of Empire Publishing, will present strategies for data-driven, artist-friendly business models, while Choi Jin-seok, an executive at SM Entertainment’s publishing arm Kreation Music Rights, will discuss K-pop’s global collaboration history and future trends.

Other speakers include James Matuschke, music director of Apple TV’s "Pachinko," music supervisors Thomas Golubic of "Breaking Bad" and "The Walking Dead," Ivone Lesan of Spain’s Primavera Sound Festival, and K-pop composer Robin Jenssen, who has placed more than 160 songs on Billboard charts.

A KOCCA official said, "For 14 years, MU:CON has grown into a global business platform supporting both veteran and rookie musicians, as well as entertainment companies. We will continue to help promising artists and firms expand abroad and foster cultural exchange worldwide."
