SEOUL, May 29 (Yonhap) -- A crime action movie “The Roundup,” starring Don Lee (Ma Dong-seok), hit over 6 million viewers, recording the best score among movies released this year.
The film distributor ABO Entertainment said that the cumulative number of viewers is estimated to be 6.1 million, as of 9 a.m. on the 12th day of its release.
This is the fastest record to reach the 6 million viewers record in recent three years, since the release of “Parasite” in 2019.
“The Roundup” hereby gets close to 6.88 million, the number of viewers of the previous episode, “The Outlaws.”
Previously, “The Roundup” has surpassed 5 million cumulative viewers on the 27th, evaluated as one of the best Korean films to hit the box office during the pandemic.
“The Roundup” features the crime mop-up operation of homicide detectives in Geumcheon police office, to catch Kang Hae-sang (Son Suk-ku), taking control of areas in Vietnam.
