SEOUL, June 30 (Yonhap) -- The tvN drama "Our Unwritten Seoul," starring Park Bo-young in a dual role, concluded its run on a high note, recording a peak viewership of 8.4 percent with its final episode.

According to Nielsen Korea on Sunday, the final episode of "Our Unwritten Seoul," aired the previous day, achieved the series' highest rating yet, closing out a steadily growing run that began with a 3.6 percent rating in its premiere episode.

The finale followed the second-act journeys of twin sisters Yoo Mi-ji and Yoo Mi-rae (both portrayed by Park Bo-young), who begin new lives after overcoming personal hardships. Mi-ji, once lost and uncertain about her future, finds direction by enrolling in university and dreaming of becoming a counseling psychologist. Meanwhile, Mi-rae, who quits her corporate job, returns to her hometown to start a strawberry farm and sees a successful first harvest.

Mi-ji’s boyfriend, Lee Ho-soo (played by Park Jin-young), who had struggled after suddenly losing his hearing, also takes steps toward acceptance and adapts to his new life with determination.

Praised for delivering quiet yet profound emotional resonance, "Our Unwritten Seoul" was lauded for its empathetic storytelling. The drama focused on individuals with various emotional scars and challenges, depicting their paths toward healing and new beginnings. Viewers were particularly moved by the emotionally rich dialogue and narration, which struck a deep chord.

Beginning with modest ratings, the drama steadily gained traction through word of mouth. By episode 6, it surpassed the 6-percent mark and maintained ratings in the 7-percent range from episode 8 onward.

Park Bo-young’s performance, portraying two distinct characters with only a shared face, earned widespread acclaim. Her nuanced and emotionally layered portrayal of the twin sisters greatly contributed to the drama's immersive quality and critical success.
