SEOUL, Sept. 12 (Yonhap) -- Netflix said Friday it will produce an original series, "Road," featuring South Korean actor Son Suk-ku and Japanese actor Eita Nagayama, about a joint investigation by police from both countries to track down a serial killer.
Son and Nagayama will play detectives from Korea and Japan, respectively, who team up after a string of murders in both countries leave behind twisted corpses accompanied by cryptic messages.
The cast also includes Kim Shin-rok as a Korean-Japanese businesswoman, Choi Sung-eun as a government agent investigating the case, and Jung Jae-young as a mysterious man.
The series is based on the Korean-Japanese manga "Blue Road" and will be directed by Han Jun-hee, known for the Netflix hit "D.P." and the film "Coin Locker Girl." Release details have not yet been announced.
