SEOUL, May 5 (Yonhap) -- Group BTS will release anthology album on the 10th of next month. This album is a summary of BTS’s music activities since their debut, including three new songs.
On the 5th, BIGHIT MUSIC announced through a fan community platform ‘Weverse’ saying that “An anthology album ‘Proof,’ composed of three CDs, will be released at 1 p.m. (KST) on the 10th of next month.”
It is the first time in about 11 months that BTS releases a physical album, a CD type album, since the release of a single CD including “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” in July of last year.
As a non-single album, it has been a year and 7 months after the release of a special album ‘BE’ in November of 2020.
The agency BIGHIT MUSIC said, “BTS, having gone through incessant journey since 2013, is about to celebrate their 9th anniversary in June,” stressing out, “We want to thank this all to ‘ARMY (BTS fandom),’ who have given unchanging love and support.”
Also, the agency explained, “With BTS opening a new chapter as artists in their 10th year, we came to release an anthology album which summarizes the history of BTS to look back for the past music activity and remind its meaning.”
Since the agency announced that it would be a new album to open a ‘new chapter,’ a lot of people in and out of music industries have predicted that BTS will release a new full-length album, but the new album is filled with songs including their 10 years of music career.
The agency said, “The anthology album, composed of a total of three CDs, is full of diverse tracks holding members’ thoughts about past, present, and future, including three new songs.”
The anthology album will be officially released on the 10th of next month, starting its presale at 11 a.m. on the 5th.
As the album will be released three days before BTS’s 9th anniversary (June 13), fans are expected to have high expectations. Meanwhile, the ‘Butter’ album sold a total of 2,999,407 copies based on the Gaon Chart last year, topping the ‘Annual Album Chart.’
