SEOUL, Aug. 11 (Yonhap) -- The comedy film "My Daughter Is A Zombie," starring Cho Jung-seok, has become the fastest movie released this year to surpass 3 million admissions.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office data, "My Daughter Is A Zombie" drew about 354,000 viewers on Monday, remaining atop the daily box office.

The cumulative total reached 3,026,000 as of that day, meaning it topped the 3 million mark in just 11 days since its release on July 30.

Only five films released this year have crossed the 3 million threshold: "My Daughter Is A Zombie," "Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning" (in 23 days), "Yadang" (27 days), "Mickey 17" (39 days) and "F1: The Movie" (40 days). Among them, "My Daughter Is A Zombie" achieved the milestone the fastest.

Since its release, the film has held the No. 1 spot daily and maintained a revenue share of over 40 percent.

"My Daughter Is A Zombie" follows zookeeper Jung-hwan (Cho Jung-seok), a predator specialist, as he struggles to protect his daughter Soo-ah (Choi Yu-ri) after she is infected with a zombie virus. Directed by Pil Kam-sung of the 2021 thriller "Hostage: Missing Celebrity," the film also stars Lee Jung-eun, Choi Yu-ri, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jo Yeo-jeong.
