Ex-Ssangbangwool head released on bail

Kim Sung-tae, former chairman of underwear maker Ssangbangwool Group, is released from a detention center in Suwon, 30 kilometers south of Seoul, on Jan. 23, 2024, as the Suwon District Court granted him bail. Kim is accused of embezzling approximately 50 billion won (US$37.36 million) from five company coffers and illegally remitting US$8 million to North Korea. (Yonhap)
