Foreign Korean War vets arrive in Busan

A group of foreign Korean War veterans and their family members invited by the South Korean government arrive at Busan Station in Busan, about 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on July 26, 2023. They will attend a ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of the Korean War armistice agreement at the U.N. Memorial Park in the port city the following day. The memorial park is for soldiers from the United States and 15 other nations who were killed in action while fighting for South Korea against invading North Korea under the U.N. flag during the 1950-53 conflict.
