Korean sexual slavery victim visits German Embassy
Lee Yong-soo (C), one of the victims of sexual slavery by Japan during World War II, moves to the German Embassy in Seoul after a news conference on May 22, 2024, to deliver a letter of protest against the Berlin mayor's recent remarks indicating the removal of the Statue of Peace, which symbolizes the Korean victims, called "comfort women," in the Mitte district in the city. South Korean and German civic activists set up the statue in September 2020. (Yonhap)
