SEOUL, Jan. 23 (Yonhap) -- Singer-actress Nana has filed a complaint for false accusation against a man who allegedly broke into her home and committed a robbery, her agency said Friday.

Sublime, her agency, said the suspect has continued to make false claims, including countersuing the victim without showing any remorse for his crime and repeatedly changing his statements.

“We have determined the suspect’s actions to be intentional and malicious secondary victimization and false allegations, and have immediately proceeded with filing a complaint for false accusation,” the agency said in a statement.

Previously, Nana was accused of attempted murder and aggravated injury by a man in his 30s, identified only as A, who had been indicted and detained for allegedly breaking into her home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, in November last year, demanding money and threatening her with a weapon.

In December, A submitted a complaint from a detention center, claiming he was injured by Nana with a weapon. After questioning Nana, however, police concluded that her actions constituted self-defense and decided not to forward the case.

Sublime said the decision was an official determination by investigative authorities that the suspect’s claims were entirely unfounded.

“We will take all possible civil and criminal legal actions against the suspect’s vicious and inhumane behavior and ensure that he is held fully accountable under the law,” the agency said.

The trial of the suspect is currently under way. At the first hearing held on Tuesday, he reportedly denied most of the charges against him.
