Donations top target

The "thermometer of love" at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul rests at 102.4 C on Jan. 16, 2023, as donations pour in despite a prolonged economic slump. Launched by the Community Chest of Korea, the annual nationwide charity campaign is aimed at encouraging people to make donations for the needy. The thermometer goes up by one degree whenever 1 percent of the target donations is collected. (Yonhap)
