Making good luck charms for Lunar New Year
Elderly women make "bokjori," traditional Korean rice strainers, at a village in the city of Anseong, south of Seoul, on Jan. 19, 2026, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, which runs from Feb. 16-18. The strainers can be used to remove tiny stones and other unwanted particles from rice but are more often hung in Korean homes as good luck charms early in the year. (Yonhap)
