Lee Nak-yon breaks with ex-ruling party chief
Lee Nak-yon, a co-head of the Saemirae party, looks stern-faced as he attends a press conference at its headquarters in Seoul on Feb. 20, 2024, to announce that the party has retracted a decision to join hands with the New Reform Party led by Lee Jun-seok, former leader of the ruling People Power Party. The break-up came 11 days after the two parties were merged under the so-called "big tent" political party ahead of the April parliamentary elections. (Yonhap)
