Central Seoul ward refurbishes streets, digital signs ahead of BTS concert
SEOUL, March 19 (Yonhap) -- The central Seoul ward of Jung said Thursday its officials and residents have cleaned the streets with water and begun displaying welcome videos for BTS fans on digital street signs ahead of the K-pop supergroup's concert this week and the spring tourism season.
Kim Gil-sung, mayor of Jung Ward, and about 200 officials and residents participated in the street cleaning Wednesday morning, washing street floors and public trash cans with water in the Myeongdong area.
On the same day, the ward office began showcasing a purple video titled "Welcome BTS and ARMY" on 22 media poles and two large LED screens in Myeongdong. The video is scheduled to be displayed until Sunday, the day after the group's Gwanghwamun Square concert Saturday.
Kim said his ward welcomes everyone visiting Myeongdong, one of the nation's most visited tourist destinations, and hopes they create wonderful memories on the clean streets.
