Independent lawmaker's ex-aide grilled over alleged bribery

A former aide to ex-ruling party lawmaker and currently independent Kang Sun-woo, identified by the surname Nam, appears at a unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in the capital on Jan. 23, 2026, to be questioned over allegations Kang received a bribe from Kim Kyung, a Seoul city councilor, ahead of the local elections in 2022, allegedly in exchange for her nomination.
