SEOUL, Jan. 18 (Yonhap) – Genie TV’s original drama series ‘Can We Be Strangers?,’ starring South Korean actress Kang So-ra and actor Jang Seung-jo, will be hitting the small screens at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

During the press conference of the soon-to-be-aired drama held at Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on Wednesday, Kang So-ra expressed her thoughts and feelings about playing the role of Oh Ha-ra. As the actress has been having a break from her acting career due to marriage and childbirth, actress Kang said that she was “more nervous than when [she] made a debut.”

“Can We Be Strangers” is a romance drama depicting the love and life growth of divorce lawyers. Kang So-ra will be playing the role of Oh Ha-ra, a star lawyer who is also referred to as the “Goddess of Litigation.” The actress will be returning to the small screen for the first time in six years.

Actress Kang introduced her role as “a character with a twist who works professionally but not as professional in her personal life.” She then added that she was able to relate to her role even better after her marriage and childbirth.

“I think I have come to think more deeply about love,” the actress said. “I think genuine love is more about maintaining that love and overcoming challenges. It is way more complex than simply getting married.”

Goo Eun-beom, the ex-husband of Oh Ha-ra who is also a divorce lawyer, will be played by South Korean actor Jang Seung-jo. When asked about his impression of the drama series, the actor replied, “Watching if a divorced couple, not a young couple, could meet again had piqued my interest and curiosity.”

In addition to the two leading roles, the supporting role of Kang Bi-chwi will be acted out by South Korean actress Jo Eun-ji, along with actor Lee Jae-won playing the supporting role of Kwon Si-wook.

“Our drama will deliver the story of people who see themselves as mature adults but are in fact immature when comes to love,” said Director Kim Yang-hee. “I hope the message ‘It is fine to be immature’ be delivered to our viewers.”

“Can We Be Strangers?,” Genie TV’s original drama series which will also be aired on ENA, will premiere on Wednesday.
