SEOUL, Sept.26 (Yonhap) -- Sinan county in South Jeolla Province will hold aster flower festival with the theme "Bora Bora Purple Island" at Banwol and Bakji Island, famous for purple island, from Sept. 30 to Oct. 10

Purple island is full of flowers such as Lavender, lilac, hollyhock, Willow fern, and aster.

It is unique with purple flowers blooming from spring to fall, and 300,000 tourists visit to see the beautiful sight of island.

Purple island has been drawing attention in and out of the country as it was selected as "2021 Best Tourism Village" from UN and "star of Korean tourism" by the Korea Tourism Organization.

From bridge to roof and window, even dishes used by the residents are all purple.

Governor Park Woo-ryang said on Monday, "I hope that it will be a time for all tourists to feel the scent of Purple Island and the taste of autumn while looking at the beautiful purple aster flowers."
